Last week the English department hosted the Festival of the Spoken Word, where three finalists from Years 9-12 competed for the coveted ‘best speaker’ in their year group. The speakers were judged by Mr Roland Burrows and Mr David Bevin. Year 13 student Hamish Petersen also treated the audience to some of his spoken word poetry while the judges deliberated.

Year 11
Winner: Sydney Kininmonth

Year 12
Winner: Rose Oakley
Runners up: William Lu and William Undy
