At the moment Year 5 students are learning about Anzac history. We made Anzac biscuits and we made boxes decorated in the Anzac symbols for the veteran soldiers at Rannerdale Retirement Home.
Some of the students from our class went to Rannerdale home to give the Anzac biscuits to the residents.
When we met the soldiers they told us that it was very hard to stay alive in the war. We also got to see their special medals that they got from the war or navy and air force. One man in the navy called Willie, had a medal because he didn’t get into any trouble for 15 long years.
We hope they have a wonderful life in Rannerdale home and that people don’t forget them.
