The First XI football team competed in the Christchurch Schools First XI Football competition at the start of May. They had a great first game with a 3–1 win against Papanui High School, who won in 2015. The team are the first to win a new shield sponsored by Connetics, the Connetics Challenge Shield.

The shield was presented to Matthew Walsh (Y13) by Connetics CEO Jono Brent.
