The Pipe Band at Nationals in Tauranga won the Juvenile Grade on Friday, and won Grade 2 after exceptional performance in set piece and medley on Saturday. All the other bands in Grade 2 are adult bands, eg City of Dunedin, Temuka . . . For our band to win this grade is amazing and only the third time we have done so in the 95-year history of the St Andrew’s College Pipe Band (the other years were in 1951 and 2009).
Congratulations to Richard, James, Graeme and Jamie and all the students. Ten of last year’s leavers returned to play with the band in this final competition, so it was a great way to finish such an outstanding year for the band.
