In March the Year 9 GATE class went on a field trip to Orana Park for their Athropology unit. The students gained an understanding of Human Evolutionary Theory, discussing primate skulls compared with 14 hominid skulls. They also discussed whether certain animals, such as large primates, are entitled to more rights than others based on cultural and/or intelligence differences. Orana Park provided a wonderful environment to learn more about the social hierarchies of animals. It was a fun and educational trip.
